In new builds and major renovations, the highest attenuation values are achieved with roll materials embedded in the building fabric: roof and facade underlay membranes, under-wallpaper meshes, drywall fleeces, plaster reinforcement meshes and joint tapes. Installation and Application
- Fleeces and mats are fixed to the wall with PSA conductive adhesive or staples, or laid out beneath the cladding; the overlap should be 5-10 cm.
- All seams, edges and service penetrations are sealed with HNX50/HNX100 conductive tape to ensure electrical continuity.
- The conductive layer is grounded with GS/GF components according to the project's grounding plan; after installation it is covered with plaster, plasterboard or cladding.
- ARM40 render mesh is embedded directly into the system as reinforcement for external insulation and render.
Care and Service Life
Fleeces and meshes embedded in the building fabric need no maintenance for the life of the building. Service channels and holes opened later must be bridged with conductive tape when they are closed up; otherwise local weak spots form.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose a fleece instead of paint?
Roll materials offer attenuation far above paints, at 88-123 dB, and at the construction stage their cost per m² is usually more efficient. In an existing, already-painted space, paint is easier in practice.
What does 123 dB mean?
A300-HEMP's 123 dB means that roughly one two-trillionth of the incoming power gets through — protection at military-standard level (MIL-STD-188-125).
At which layer is it installed?
Preferably over the structural shell, immediately beneath the final finish: under plaster/plasterboard on walls, under the screed on floors, under the membrane on roofs. The layer is thus mechanically protected.
Are the seams a problem?
Not with correct overlaps and conductive tape. What degrades a shield's performance is not the seams but untaped penetrations and forgotten gaps; that is why installation supervision matters.
